Karl Weismantel Jazz Guitar and Vocals

Remiss missive, remiss mixing…

July 13th, 2010

All tracking for the original project is complete and it looks like I am going to do the mix on this project.  Finding time for this has been a challenge but I want to start on the solo project so I gotta kick this bird out of the nest!

Paul Creel has departed for North Carolina and Ricky Ravelo has been covering the gig at Emiliano’s, which is a real treat.  I’m playing every other Friday at the Chart House in Daytona Beach and am in the process of booking some work in the Orlando metro - stay tuned!

Final tracking this Monday!!!

February 25th, 2010

I’ll be traveling to Atlanta to have Kevin Bales add some piano overdubs to the original tracks.  This should be the last tracking for the original project and next it is time to mix and master.  I’m planning on a solo/duo project after the original-instrumental project is finished, featuring nylon and steel string guitar, vocals and some exciting guest partners for the duos.  Stay tuned!

It has been quite a while since I have posted > The holidays were very busy with New Year’s Eve at the Casa Monica, vacation in San Fran, and solid bookings to start the new year.  2010 looks to be a busy year and I’ll be playing in Central Florida more as well as continued appearances in Gainesville, Jacksonville and St Augustine.  I resolve  to keep writing and recording and look to give new music good audiences.  I hope to see you at a performance soon!

Recording sessions for original jazz project

August 2nd, 2009

July 27 and 28th were the first two tracking sessions for my project of original music.  Paul Creel, Tom Dietz and Peter Miles did a great job and with another session or two it will be on to the mixing stage.  Stay tuned!

Also, Sundays in August at Francesca’s Trattoria will be solo guitar, 6-9pm.  I’ll be playing Bach, Beatles, and jazz so come on out and have some great Italian food and enjoy the music.
